These terms govern your use of DomesticPro, operated by Retail Development and Investment Company Limited. By registering, you agree to them. Please read the section on what we are and are not responsible for — it matters.
1. What DomesticPro is
DomesticPro is an introduction service. We verify domestic workers and connect them with households and businesses who want to hire.
We are not the employer. When a worker is placed, the employment relationship is between the worker and the employer directly. We do not pay wages, set working hours, or supervise work. Both parties are responsible for agreeing terms between themselves and for complying with Nigerian labour law.
2. Registering
You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate information. Giving false information, or registering on someone else’s behalf without their knowledge, will result in your account being closed.
You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account.
3. Worker registration fee
Workers pay a one-time registration fee of ₦2,000. This fee:
- Opens your profile on your dashboard so you can complete it
- Places you in the queue for verification by our team
The fee does not guarantee a job, a placement, or an income. It does not guarantee that you will pass verification. We will always tell you honestly if you do not.
Browsing jobs on the site is free. You cannot apply for jobs until our team has verified you.
4. Verification
We aim to contact every worker who has paid within 5 working days to begin verification. Verification may include confirming your identity, contacting a guarantor, checking references and — at higher levels — police and medical checks.
Verification is at our discretion. We may decline to verify or may remove verification at any time if information proves false, if we receive credible complaints, or if we believe a placement would be unsafe. We are not obliged to give reasons, though we usually will.
Verification means we have carried out the checks described for that level. It is not a guarantee of a person’s future conduct. Employers should still exercise normal judgement and care.
5. Employers and job posts
Employers receive one free job post on registration and may purchase more. Job posts are added to any you already hold and do not expire unused.
You must post genuine roles with accurate pay and conditions. You may not use the platform to advertise anything unlawful, to request unpaid work, or to contact workers for purposes unrelated to hiring.
You must pay agreed wages promptly and provide safe working conditions. Reports of non-payment or mistreatment will result in removal from the platform.
6. Conduct
You agree not to: harass or abuse other users; discriminate unlawfully; attempt to arrange placements off-platform to avoid fees; scrape or copy profile data; or interfere with the site’s operation.
7. What we are responsible for
We will operate the platform with reasonable care and carry out the verification checks we describe.
We are not liable for: the conduct, honesty or performance of any worker or employer; loss, theft or damage occurring during a placement; disputes over wages or working conditions; or any decision you make to hire or accept work. Our total liability to you in any circumstance is limited to the fees you have paid us in the previous 12 months.
Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud caused by our own negligence, where Nigerian law does not permit such limitation.
8. Disputes between users
If a placement goes wrong, contact us. We will try in good faith to help resolve it and may remove users who behave badly — but we cannot compel payment or enforce an employment contract on your behalf.
9. Closing accounts
You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. Registration fees are non-refundable except as set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days beforehand.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the Nigerian courts have jurisdiction.
